SUMMER 2019 WORKUM INTERNS

The Workum internship program selected 10 outstanding college students to spend the summer experiencing real-world work experience, understanding more about our Jewish community and making great professional development strides in their respective organizations.

The Workum Fund Internship places college students at participating Jewish organizations and congregations across Cincinnati. The program runs 8 weeks and comes together on most Wednesdays for a work session where each intern has an opportunity to present about the organizations for which they work and the work they are doing over the summer.  Career development workshops are integrated as well as guest speakers of the community engage in thoughtful Jewish lessons and conversations.  Overall, the program is a complete learning experience on both a personal and professional level.

Zach Berger is a 3rd-year Interdisciplinary Studies major at the University of Cincinnati.  After graduation, he is interested in User Experience Design and Consulting. 

While attending Sycamore High School, he was a member of the Ski Club, Hackathons, DECA, and Journalism. His involvement with the Jewish community includes BBYO, NFTY, JSU, Hillel, and AEPi.

Zach interned at the Rockdale Temple.

Reily Boss is currently attending Miami University studying Finance with a Fashion Business Minor. After graduation, she wants to be involved with the fashion industry, whether that is working behind the scenes as a financial advisor for a retail company or owning a clothing store. 

While attending Wyoming High School, Reily played softball and did cheerleading.

She is involved with the Jewish Heritage Program and a counselor at the Mayerson JCC. Reily interned at the Mayerson JCC. 

Grant Epstein is a first-year student at the University of Toledo studying Mechanical Engineering.  After graduation Grant wants to work in aerospace or alternative energy. 

While attending Mason High School, Grant was in a mentoring program (SIBS), ran cross country, and was a teaching assistant at his synagogue.   Grant interned at the Northern Hills Synagogue- Congregation B’nai Avraham.

Lauren Figa is a second-year student at the University of Cincinnati majoring in Marketing and getting a Pre-Medicine Certificate.  She plans to attend Medical School. 

Lauren graduated from Louisville Collegiate school and DuPont Manual High School (Youth Performing Arts School).

High school activities included Beta Club, Tri-M (music honors society), Future Problem Solvers, Philharmonic and Chamber Orchestras, tennis, and golf team. Lauren’s Jewish involvement includes BBYO, Hebrew School Aid, FYSH Leader at Hillel, Programming Chair at Hillel, Challah for Hunger Executive Board Member (incoming President). 

Lauren interned at Adath Israel Congregation.

Max Fritzhand is a 3rd-year Interdisciplinary Studies Major at the University of Cincinnati.  Max is interested in working in the User Experience Design and Consulting field after graduation. 

While attending Sycamore High School, Max participated in Journalism, DECA, Ski Club, and Hackathons.  While in College, Max has been involved in the Jewish Community.  He’s been active with BBYO, NFTY, JSU, Hillel, and AEPi.

Max interned at the Jewish Federation of Cincinnati Young Adult  Division and Create Your Jewish Legacy.

Ethan Glassman is a 3rd-year Biology student at Bowling Green State University.  After graduation, he would like to be in the education field.  

While attending Wyoming High School, Ethan was a Madrich at Temple Shalom for four years.  During college, he was the Vice President and the President of Hillel. 

Ethan interned at Camp Livingston serving as a Communications Coordinator and Nature Program Director.

Reagan Heck is a Miami University Class of 2020 Psychology and Comparative Religion student with a minor in Neuroscience, Reagan is planning on going to Graduate School for Clinical Psychology after graduation. 

While attending Kings High School, Reagan was played for the Varsity Tennis Team and was a member of the National Honors Society.  During college, Reagan has been active with the Jewish Community as a Fellow with StandWithUS, a David Project Intern, VP of Marketing for Students for Israel, VP of Students for Israel, and an Onward Israel Participant.

Reagan interned with the Jewish Foundation of Cincinnati.

Megan Levy is a 3rd-year student at the University of Cincinnati majoring in Classical Civilization.  After graduation, she is interested in studying law.

A graduate of Wyoming High School, Megan was involved with the Latin club and Orchestra.

Megan is a member of SAEPi and involved with Cincinnati Hillel. She interned at The Jacob Rader Marcus Center of the American Jewish Archives.

Justin Slutsky is in his 3^rd year at the University of Cincinnati majoring in Entrepreneurship.  Justin is interested in Software Sales post-graduation.  

While attending New Albany High School, Justin participated in Bowling, Ultimate Frisbee, Basketball, and BBYO.  While in college he has been involved with BBYO and AEPi.  

Justin interned in the Planning and Allocations Department of the Jewish Federation of Cincinnati.

Noah Warm is a rising Junior, at the University of Colorado in Boulder, Noah is majoring in International affairs and minoring in Business.  After graduation, he would like to work for a non-profit company or work in the business field internationally. 

While attending Wyoming High school, Noah was involved with Cross Country, Track, and Relay for Life.  During college, Noah went to Israel in 2015. 

Noah interned within the Jewish Federation of Cincinnati Shared Business Services Accounting and Finance departments.
